First Day of School

Jenaya started the First Grade this week. Here are some of pictures of her first day on Monday. Ahhhh, our little girl is growing up so fast. She was a bit nervous to start 1st grade this year. It’s actually a lot bigger school than her Kindergarten was. But, by the next day she wanted to walk to the bus stop all by herself. She was so excited to see her Aunt Cammy waiting at the bus stop when she came home. Richard and Cammy got her late Sunday night (my little bro & sis) Rich is here to help get some projects done before we put our house up for sale. It’s been sooo much fun to have them here this week. Cammy has been helping to entertain the twins while Jenaya’s at school and than she and Jenaya play great when she comes home. I’ll have to post some of the cute little t-shirt dresses we’ve been making. I’m secretly never going to let them ever leave. I'm not sure yet how I’m going to manage it, but I’ll find away ; )

Prairie Dogs

Now of course we can’t go visit Great Grandma and not stop by to feed the little prairie dogs up by Tramway and Indian School. All along Tramway there are hundreds and hundreds of the little critters. It’s pretty amazing how many are up there. It’s fun to watch them eat the little carrots you throw and every now and then a little food fight.

Rio Grande Zoo

We were also able to visit the ABQ Zoo while we were there. The kids absolutely loved it. It was Ben and Lanessa’s first time ever going to a Zoo, and almost like a first for Jenaya since she was too young to remember going when we lived there.

Super cool GIANT turtles!!!

All hail queen Jenaya ; )

Ben's favorite part of the day was the TRAIN ride!!

Chuck E. Cheese's

We were able to visit Josh’s grandma in ABQ this past weekend. It was so nice to see her again. The kids were super excited to see their great grandma. They asked her all kinds of questions about her aging skin and spots (repeatedly. It’s a good thing grandma thought it was cute. Lanessa wanted to sit with grandma to rock-a-bye, snuggle and talk. It was so sweet. I wanted to take a picture of her with the kiddos, but she didn’t think she looked good enough for a picture : ) she said we could get one this weekend when she comes down to visit because she’ll look better then.

On the way into town we stopped at Chuck E. Cheese's. The kids had been counting down the days till they got to go. We all had such a great time. It’s a good thing we don't have one here in Farmington or else we'd be broke ; )

Swim Lessons

The kids finished up two weeks of swim lessons the day before we left for the reunion. Guess I should have posted this before the reunion post, oh well. Jenaya is our little fish, and is swimming pretty good now (short distances). It was Ben & Lanessa’s first time for swim lessons. They really enjoyed it. Well, most the time anyways, they did have a rough day or two thrown in there. They ask me pretty much everyday since if they are going to swim lesson today. Jenaya also finished a day camp that her OT held that week. She did miss the last day due to needing to travel to Utah. Isn’t summertime fun and sooo BUSY! I can’t believe how fast it is flying by. School starts in a week and a half. Crazy.

Our Trip

Last Saturday, we were able to attend a reunion with a bunch of friends we made while living in Albuquerque. It was so much fun. Most of our friends we haven’t seen in 3 years. We meet at the Jackman's (Matt's parents' house) in Orem Utah. It’s funny because none of us there actually live in ABQ anymore. We all meet while our husbands were in school and had such a great group of friends. Us girls really became close by leaning & supporting each other through those tuff school years. I don’t know what I would’ve done without them. Love you guy’s!!

Our husbands and kiddos were there too. This is just a picture of us girls. I wish everyone could have made it.

A fun waterslide the kids had so much fun playing on.

This is the cutest playhouse that Grandpa Jackman is in the middle of building for his grandkids. Isn’t it so adorable?? I told Josh I was taking pictures so he could build our girls one some day ; ) This is where Jenaya played the entire time we were there. She LOVED it!

For such a short trip we sure packed in a lot of fun! We traveled up on friday. I meet up with some friends for a girls night out that night. Saturday was our friend’s reunion. It also was my sister Krista’s b-day so a couple of my sisters and I took her out for a fun girls night out that evening (Josh, you’re such a sweetie letting me go out two nights in a row! Love you ; ). On Sunday we went down to Delta to visit my Grandma. Then on to Green River to spend the night.

Monday, we woke up and went to Arches National Park outside of Moab. It was so cool to see all the different rock formations.

We decided that we'll need to go again when Ben & Lanessa are a little older so we can do more hikes; and when it’s not over 100 degrees outside. Benny lost his footing and rolled a couple of times, about here where Jenaya is in this picture. I know he must have had his guardian angels looking out for him that day because it definitely could’ve ended up fatal. I was scared to death!! (It’s a lot steeper than it looks in the picture and it keeps going down)

We also visited Mesa Verde National Park on the way home. It’s in between Cortez & Durando Co. It was sure a sight to see. Josh & I both had only been once before when we were little, so to see it again as an adult was simply amazing. I can’t believe that people actually lived that way and survived! I asked one of the Rangers what their water source was and he said it was just what seeped through the rocks and probably was enough to cook with and maybe have one cup a day. That blows my mind. I’m such a HUGE water drinker I don’t know how they survived on one cup a day!!

Ben & Daddy (with scary eyes) down inside a Kiva.

We had fun, but it’s good to be HOME.
